CARCINOID 2003: RECENT ADVANCES IN DIAGNOSIS AND THERAPY 

8 AM - 5 PM (for Medical Professionals)

Jointly sponsored by the University of California, Irvine College of Medicine and California Carcinoid Fighters.
General surgeons, surgical oncologists, endocrinologists, oncologists, gastroenterologists, radiologists, internists, other specialists and other healthcare professionals will have a "once in a lifetime" opportunity to learn about carcinoid cancer from a panel of world renowned physicians. At the conclusion of the lectures, participants will be able to identify the signs and symptoms of carcinoid syndrome; cite how the location of the carcinoid tumors affects its presentation and the co-occurrence of the carcinoid syndrome; discuss the effectiveness of somatostatin analogs and other treatment modalities in the control of carcinoid syndrome and tumor growth.
Physicians and healthcare professionals from 37 states and Canada are expected to attend this unique program.
Physicians and other healthcare providers will earn CME credits during this full day program.
