Day One:  Friday, April 12, 2002

6:30 pm - 8:45 pm Breakout Sessions:  One hour each session, choose two.

     A) “Communication and Fighting Fatigue”
           This session provides practical information on how to discuss some of the common concerns such as fighting fatigue and controlling pain.
OR
      B) “Living with, Through and Beyond Cancer:  Strategies for Self-Empowerment and Self-Care”
           This module helps participants understand the meaning of survivorship and the characteristics that commonly typify each stage of survivorship.
OR
      C) “What Cancer Survivors Need to Know About Health Insurance”
           This presentation instructs cancer survivors on how to obtain and collect health
           insurance benefits, and provides an overview of federal legislation and state regulations.
           It discusses insurance coverage for clinical trials and other types of insurance of interest to cancer survivors.
OR
     D) “Working It Out:  Your Employment Rights as a Cancer Survivor”
          This module sensitizes participants to employment issues faced by cancer survivors.
          Helps to identify illegal cancer-based discrimination, ways to avoid it and measures to take if it occurs.
          This session also enables survivors to become familiar with issues related to genetic testing information and advises
          them on how to obtain vocational rehabilitation services.
